Mahesh’s
net immersion began formally when he joined CKS
Partners (a Silicon Valley-based net marketing firm) in
1994. He’d spent 9 years before that in multinational ad agencies,
handling Microsoft, Pepsi, Intel, MTV, Unilever and other
marketers. During 4 years at CKS, he helped design and launch
Yahoo’s first GUI, shape
Amazon.com’s first strategy
and advertising, launch Paul Allen’s net properties: ESPN,
Family Planet, Mr. Showbiz
and Outside Online and handle
the interactive marketing for MCI, Nike, Coca-cola and Microsoft’s
IE3 and IE4 launches.

After
having run a CKS office through an IPO, he joined iCat,
a Seattle-based e-commerce software firm as VP Marketing. He
successfully launched a net-based store-hosting service till
the firm was acquired by Intel. Mahesh then consulted with Star
TV (Newscorp’s Asian arm, broadcasting across 300 million homes
in 59 countries), repositioning their youth vehicle, Channel
[v], and creating a net and TV presence for it. Mahesh has
spoken at Internet World Chicago, CNET/LA and other net conferences
and won the world’s top awards at Cannes and Promax. He has
been ‘angel’ing startups since 98 and set up Passionfund to
do so full-time. |
